Frequently Asked Questions

I have forgotten my Username and Password for the network.

This will effect: Logging on to your area at school, accessing RM Easylink and accessing Online Learning. It is important that you try and remember your username and password at all times. It is also important not to share your password with others.

If you have forgotten your username and password, please speak to one of the ICT Support Team based in the ICT Support Office.

When I download a file from Online Learning, it opens with a dialogue saying 'Open With...'.

When you open a file and it opens with a dialogue saying 'Open With...', this usually means your computer does not have the correct software installed. First try selecting a program from the list. In the help section, there is a list of recommended software, many of which is free for download. This should allow you to view all the resources on Online Learning. If you continue to have problems, please speak to one of the IT Support Team.

When I use Online Learning at home, the page layout looks funny and certain features don't work.

It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer to use Online Learning. Online Learning has been successfully tested using Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and Firefox 2.0.The page layout maybe affected by the browser you are using.

Certain features on the website also require JavaScript to be turned on.

When I access Online Learning, I get an error message shown saying 'Access Denied'.

You should be able to view the homepage and all the subject pages within Online Learning. If you cannot, please speak to one of the ICT Support Team. Certain sections of the website have higher security settings meaning that some users will get 'Access Denied' on some pages. If you think this is a problem, again please contact one of the ICT Support Team.
