RM Easylink allows you to use the Internet to access your home directory files and the Learning Resources on your school's network.
RM Easylink is a website hosted at your school. To use RM Easylink you simply log on to this website using your network username and password. Once logged on you will be able to access the network out of normal working hours and work on documents in your home directory or a shared Learning Resources folder from home, or from any computer with Internet access.
Any files that you need to work on should be copies from the network to your own PC. When you have completed your work, copy your files back to the network.
"When I click on the Home Directory link, it shows My Computer rather than my school files.."
When the RM Easylink Home Directory link is chosen, instead of displaying the expected, RM Easylink Home Directory page, a different page is displayed showing the My Computer folder for the local computer.
This error occurs when your home computer has Internet Explorer 7 but does not have Microsoft Office 2003 installed. To fix this problem, there are two things that can be done:
"When I edit files and try to save them, I get an error."
Before working on a file, you must first copy it from Easylink onto your computer (either onto the Desktop or in My Documents is best). When the file is on your computer, you can then edit it and save it. Once you have finished editing the file, you can then copy the file back on Easylink. If you try and edit the file directly from Easylink, it will usually show an error and will not let you save the file.
There is also a help section once you login to RM Easylink, which include a summary of common issues that you may experience.
If you have anymore issues, please come and speak to one of the IT Support Team located in the IT Support Office.
